& FLOSSING

We take time to review the how’s and why’s of brushing and flossing with orthodontic appliances at the start of treatment and anytime it is needed along the way.

Be thorough

Cover the teeth, along the gum-line and around appliances. It takes a minimum of 2 mins, and often longer to ensure you’ve covered all areas.

Be Consistent

Brush in the morning, after meals and at bedtime. Getting into a routine will ensure you don’t forget to brush.

Be comfortable

Some discomfort of the gums around orthodontic appliances are related to accumulation of food & plaque. Good brushing helps your orthodontic treatment go smoothly.

Be healthy

Brushing to remove plaque can minimize chances of getting cavities and gum disease
